HELE: Learning & Living in the 21st Century 4 Set (TB + TM)
Learning and Living in the 21st Century is a series of work texts in Home Economics and Livelihood Education for Grades 4, 5 and 6. The context of this series complies with the curriculum prescribed by the Department of Education under its new K to 12 program. The series is geared toward the realization of the learning standard of DepEd that every Grade 4, 5 and 6 pupil is expected to demonstrate. These learning standards involve the acquisition of basic knowledge, skills, values and attitudes (KSVA) in the four areas of studies namely: ICT and Entrepreneurship. Agricultural Arts, Home Economics, and Industrial Arts -- all of which are aimed toward improving the self, the family and the community.
The series introduces the modular approach in the conduct of every lesson. This approach closely approximates a self-learning kit allowing pupils at the beginning of each lesson to know and understand their lesson objectives, then work their way through the lesson: and make a self assessment of their learnings before and after studying the lesson. In between each lesson and afterwards, they do collaborate performance-based activities as application of the concepts and principles they have learned in the lesson. This authentic-based learning and with this, it is hoped in this series will meet the set learning standards of DepEd and in the long term, fulfill the overarching goals of education.
